It is with tremendous sadness that Fire
This Time marks the passing of our
compañero Guido Varela. Born in Chile,
Guido came to Canada in the late 80s. He
was a communist and defended many just
causes on the side of working and oppressed
people throughout his life. In Vancouver he
was regularly at the monthly picket actions
to free our 5 Cuban heroes from U.S.
jails and meetings of the Free the Cuban
5 Committee - Vancouver. A beautiful
memorial for his life was organized by
family and friends at the Chilean Housing
Coop in Vancouver on March 23, 2018.
